The need
WESTMARC and West Valley leaders needed a shared place to find regional evidence, compare communities, and prepare information for economic-development decisions.
The people it serves: Municipalities, employers, economic-development organizations, regional stakeholders, and other authorized decision-makers.
The challenge
Economic-development decision-makers in the West Valley lacked a consistent, shared place to explore multi-sector regional data, requiring manual work across static reports and disconnected datasets.
Lighthearts’ solution
Lighthearts is designing and building a shared regional data workspace for WESTMARC, with Casco Tech Consulting supporting the backend. The platform brings economic, workforce, housing, education, and demographic information into guided questions, comparisons, and visual exploration.
Organize evidence around decisions
Guided pathways start with questions such as planning for regional growth and connect users with relevant datasets and comparisons.
Make comparisons understandable
Metric alignment and geographic baselines support consistent comparisons across communities, with source context retained alongside the data.
Connect exploration with explanation
The interface brings maps, data views, and conversational support together so leaders can explore a question and prepare evidence for others.
Execution and delivery
Lighthearts leads product direction, dataset and metric alignment, the user interface, testing, deployment coordination, training, and continuing stewardship, with primary accountability to WESTMARC for delivery. Casco Tech Consulting supports the AWS backend, authentication, APIs, ingestion, processing, and agentic exploration. The platform remains a client environment with access coordinated through WESTMARC.
